i wanna backpack through australia, new zealand etc. i wanna do this as cheap as i can and was wondering is it possible for me to sleep in a tent most of the time? when im in brisbane or another big city i might sleep in a hostel, but other than that im comfortable sleeping in a tent.well what i was trying to ask is, is it safe to do this? are there plenty of other campsites with people doingthe same thing?

I am going to Australia for 6 months.I am planning on bringing $7000.00 Canadian currency with me.Will that be enough? I will be staying in hostels, and living very cheap.Also how much are flights to Aukland from Cairns or sydney?Thanks

People with knoledge please Im going to Australia in AUGUST for between 2 4 months.. I want to travel between CAIRNS and MELBOURNE is it best to go north to sount or south to north??Im going on the Oz Experience Bus and have a choice which route to take... Any knowledge would be appreciated...I wouldnt want to land in Sydney as its so far away from Melbourne.. i will land there or cairns..But i didnt know bout melbourns crappy winters.. thats making me think Bruce Pass North to South so im south for the summer
